Spanning the Past: The Waco Suspension Bridge and Historic River Crossings, Brown Bag Program In-Person
Bridges connect towns as well as generations. The Waco Suspension Bridge, one of Texas’s most recognized landmarks, has inspired countless stories and tall tales. Jim Herold will share the history behind this iconic structure, learn how it shaped life in Central Texas, and separate fact from fiction. We’ll also take a look at other historic Texas bridges crossed by our ancestors. A model of the Waco Suspension Bridge built by Justice Adcox will also be displayed.
This event is co-sponsored by the Central Texas Genealogical Society.
