Building and Researching Your Family Tree, a 12-part Beginners series: Emigration and Immigration Records

Building and Researching Your Family Tree, a 12-part Beginners series: Emigration and Immigration Records Online

We are up to part 10 of our 12-part beginners genealogy series! In today's video we're looking at emigration and immigration records. These records, that help us track where and when our ancestors moved, are grouped as Pre-1820 and Post-1820 and provide rich biographical and genealogical information. Some of the records we'll look at include: Passenger lists, Documents from ports of arrival and departure, Naturalization records, Passport applications, Hotel Arrivals, and Census. We'll also cover the differences between migration, emigration, immigration.
