Edible Book Festival

Edible Book Festival In-Person

Are you an amazing cake decorator looking to show off your skills? Or do you just like looking at fancy cakes? You're all invited to the first Waco-McLennan County Library Edible Book Festival!

To enter, create a literary dessert. It doesn't need to be a cake and doesn't have to look like a book;  but it must be inspired by a book or series and be made from edible materials. You'll need to provide your recipe, the title of the book, and a one-sentence description about your entry. The contest is limited to 20 participants and registration closes two weeks prior to the festival, so sign up early! This is an All Ages event so kids and teens are encouraged to enter the contest, too.

A panel of judges will choose winners for each category. The categories are: Funniest/Punniest, Best Adult Book, and Best Children’s Book. We'll also have a special prize for Crowd Favorite that will be picked from votes by festival attendees. Winners will be awarded gift cards to area restaurants and cafes.

The day of the event will be open to the public to come view the desserts and place your vote for your favorite. No cakes will be harmed at the festival. They will all go home with their owners.
