Join us for a special living-history program as Marilyn Judy brings to life Emily Margaret Bryan Perry—better known as Emily Austin, sister of Stephen F. Austin. Emily forged her own path with determination and intelligence. Far from the stereotype of a delicate southern lady, Emily cultivated a self-reliant spirit that enabled her to manage family responsibilities, vast property holdings, and eventually the immense estate left to her by her brother.

Discover how Emily Austin Perry navigated a world shaped by men and carved out a legacy of her own—one that continues to influence Texas history today. This program offers a unique opportunity to explore genealogy, women’s history, and the complex stories behind one of Texas’s most influential families.
